Officers from the Yorktown Police Department received a report of a domestic dispute shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, where there was a report from a woman of the domestic incident.

Upon arrival at the scene, police said that the investigators determined that Mohegan Lake resident Christian DeMatteis, 44, allegedly intentionally damaged a television set that was jointly owned inside the Stony Street residence.

Police said that DeMatteis had fled the scene before police arrived, and he was located on Stony Manor Court and arrested shortly after 3 p.m. on a felony charge of third-degree criminal mischief. A Temporary Order of Protection was issued on behalf of DeMatteis’ victim and he was released on $500 cash bail following arraignment. DeMatteis is due back in Yorktown Justice Court later this year to answer the charge.
