Randolph Jordan was arrested after a witness saw a man remove a delivered package from a Broad Street residential porch in Peekskill, conceal it under his jacket, and walk away, police said.

Peekskill Police Det. John Bennett found Jordan on North James Street shortly thereafter.

Jordan, who was released on parole in February after serving five years for burglary, admitted taking several items of beauty products from Peekskill residences, according to police.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the case, as a number of similar thefts have occurred in Peekskill over the past two weeks.

The witness who alerted authorities “epitomized the concept of see something say something” and helped make their community a safer place, said Chief Eric Johansen in a press release.

The state had issued a warrant for Jordan’s arrest in March, which has led to an additional charge of parole violation, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the recent thefts from porches, or other suspicious activity, is asked to call the Peekskill Police Department at 914-737-8000.
