Cortlandt Manor Man Driving Erratically Was Drunk, Yorktown Police Say

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A Cortlandt Manor motorist was arrested in Yorktown with a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit after being stopped on Saw Mill River Road for driving erratically.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, officers on routine patrol in Yorktown reported that they observed a vehicle being operated erratically with no headlights, crossing the double yellow lines.

Police said that during the subsequent traffic stop, officers determined that 54-year-old Vasel Balbona was allegedly operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent, both misdemeanors.

Balbona was processed and released to the custody of a friend on $250 bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, May 23.
