Briarcliff Man, 20, Had 49 Grams Of Marijuana, Yorktown Police Say

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - A 20-year-old man from Briarcliff Manor was busted by police on Route 9A in Yorktown last week with nearly two ounces of marijuana in his possession.

On Wednesday, the Yorktown Police Department announced that at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, March 3, patrol officers stopped Kyle Birch on Route 9A for alleged tail lamp and muffler violations, initiating a traffic stop in a parking lot on Crompond Road.

According to police, during the subsequent investigation, officers determined that Birch was in possession of 49 grams of marijuana. He was arrested at the scene and charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of marijuana at Yorktown Police Headquarters. Officers also issued traffic infractions for the tail lamp and muffler violations.

Birch was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court for arraignment on Tuesday, April 4.
