Ossining Letter: Galef Voting For Borgia On Election Day

To the editor:

Catherine Borgia – What a dynamo. As our county legislator, she makes county government work for us with her ideas, her initiatives, and her driving efforts to make a real difference. Yes, I am voting for Catherine on Election Day and I hope you will join me in doing the same.   Before she was a county legislator, Catherine served as Ossining town supervisor. While everyone was talking about sharing and consolidating municipal services to save taxpayer dollars, Catherine was one of the very few elected officials accomplishing that goal. The Ossining Town Police Department was merged into the County Department of Public Safety, saving more than $600,000 in the first year of this consolidation and providing significant savings each year following. On the county board she took the next step to introduce and get legislation passed to allow any community to follow in Ossining’s footsteps and merge police departments with the county. This is only one example of how Catherine has helped the taxpayers and at the same time provided essential services. Often elected officials pull back from the challenges, but not Catherine. She deals with a problem or an idea with thoughtfulness, ingenuity and determination. We need her to continue to work hard, fight for our interests, and to work in a bi-partisan way to make the county work even better for us. Please vote to reelect Catherine Borgia on Nov. 5. Sincerely, Sandy Galef
