The following is a letter by local constituent Karen Rigney about the upcoming election.
Catherine Borgia will be an extraordinary County Legislator, just as she has been an accomplished and successful Ossining Town Supervisor. Through her negotiating skills and creative problem solving, she has provided us with police services through the County of Westchester while reducing our taxes and maintaining a level of excellence.
Importantly, she is responsive to constituents and knows how to get things done. In the winter of 2010, after a snowstorm, there was a Con Edison live wire lying across Sleepy Hollow Road for days. We were concerned because several streets were blocked by the wire and we had no choice but to drive over the wire in order to leave our homes to get to work and school. Calls to Con Edison got us nowhere. Upon being asked to help, Supervisor Borgias staff sprang into action, called Con Ed, and arranged for the wire to be removed from the street within hours.
Catherine Borgia is dedicated, approachable and responsive to her constituents. She will work hard for all of us. As our county legislator, her policies would be far-reaching with a perspective for the future of our county to make Westchester a clean and sustainable place to live. I trust Catherine with my familys future and to save my hard earned tax dollars in the process. Please join me in voting for Catherine Borgia for County Legislator District 9.
