Weslee Ann McGovern, 76, Ossining Resident

OSSINING, N.Y. — Ossining resident Weslee Ann McGovern died on Saturday, May 7. She was 76.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1939, to Wesley and Angeline (Gallo) Neary in Troy, N.Y..

McGovern graduated from Troy Catholic High School before studying nursing at Niagara University.

An Ossining resident since 1967, McGovern received her master's degree in psychiatric nursing from New York University and joined the faculty at Lehman College of the City University of New York in the Bronx.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Eugene, as well as her three sons Eugene and his wife, Sarah, Christopher and his wife, Cesarina, and Andrew and his wife, Jean; three siblings, Sheila Winnowski and her husband Ted, John Neary, and Elizabeth Bourgeois and her husband Mark; two granddaughters, Grisel and Jessica; six grandsons, Christopher, Peter, Thomas, Timothy, Joseph and Jack; and a great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maryknoll Sisters.

Visitation is Tuesday, May 10, from 4-7 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, at the Church of Saint Ann in Ossining with private interment to follow.
