OSSINING, N.Y. — Ossining resident Walter H. Strobel died Saturday, May 7. He was 69.
A native of Stuttgart, Germany, Strobel was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
He was employed as an auto mechanic for many years at Jackson Lincoln Mercury and also at Pleasantville Ford.
Strobel is survived by his, wife Nancy; step-daughter, Melissa Zingaro; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; daughter, Tanya and her husband Terry Strobel Powell and grandchildren Kyle Strobel, Jake and Kylie Powell; his brother, Uli and his wife Jackie Strobel; his sister, Marlene Volper; and nephews, Rich, Michael, Jake and Ricky Strobel.
Strobel was predeceased by his parents, Lena K. Volper and Walter Strobel.
A memorial service will be conducted from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Leach and Thomas Funeral Home, 32 State St., Ossining.
