OSSINING, N.Y. – Roger H. Fulton of Ossining died Jan. 7 after a battle against Parkinson’s disease. He was 87.
He was born Oct. 17, 1925, in New Haven, Conn., to Gilbert H. and Grace Taylor Fulton. Raised in Hamden, Conn., he served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the 100th Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Fulton received a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and a master’s degree in labor relations from Cornell University. He married Teresa Nowak on May 26, 1951, at Our Lady of Mercy in Belmont, Mass.
He worked at E.I. DuPont in Wilmington, Del., and then more than 20 years at Exxon Corp. in New York City. He spent the rest of his career at A. Gary Schilling & Co. in Manhattan.
In his later years, Fulton volunteered at the former Ossining Open Door. He and his wife raised five children in Wilmington and Briarcliff Manor. He enjoyed nature, classical music and reading.
He is survived by his children, Gilbert H. (Gib) of Danbury, Conn., Sally A. (Rick) Martini of Putnam Valley, N.Y., Julie Fulton (Jim) Kelly of Bar Harbor, Maine, Amy Fulton (Lou) Tiseo of Easton, Conn., and John T. (Jessica) Fulton of Mount Kisco; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Watson.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Leach & Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home.
