Robert P. Vincent, 89, Of Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Robert P. Vincent, a lifelong resident of Ossining, died Thursday, Dec. 17. He was 89. 

He was a partner with his brother in a commercial and residential landscaping Company, J.F. Vincent, Inc., in Ossining. 

He was born July 30, 1926, in Ossining to John and Emma Fredericks Vincent. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. 

On May 26, 1951, he married Constance "Connie" Smith at the First Baptist Church, Ossining. 

He was a member of Independent Hose Co. No. 6 of the Ossining Volunteer Fire Dept for more than 50 years. 

He served as chief of department from 1961-62 and many years as a deputy fire chief. 

He also volunteered for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind for more than ten years. 

He is survived by his wife, Constance and daughter, Betsy.

A memorial celebration of Vincent's life will be held in the spring of 2016.
