OSSINING, N.Y. -- Robert Louis Volckhausen died Sept. 14.
He was born Sept. 15, 1938 in New York City to William Louis Volckhausen and Jessie (nee Rankin) Volckhausen.
He and his older brother William and younger brother John grew up in Teaneck, N.J., Virginia, Mount Kisco and Larchmont.
He graduated from Horace Greeley High School before attending Farmingdale State College.
He worked for many years at Arcadian Gardens, and later at Green Valley Nursery in Hawthorne.
He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his nieces Jeannie Senior and Sharon Volckhausen, his nephews Jeffrey Volckhausen and Alex Volckhausen, and his sisters-in-law Martha Volckhausen and Grace Lyu-Volckhausen.
A viewing will be conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday at Leach & Thomas Inc., 32 State St., followed by a service at the First Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday.
