Richard J. Fasciani, 82, Former Ossining Resident

OSSINING, N.Y. - Richard J. Fasciani, formerly of Ossining, died Thursday, May 8. He was 82.

Fasciani was born July 9, 1931, in Ossining, and was the son of Carmine and Maria (Galto) Fasciani. He was a graduate of Ossining High School, class of 1949. He then served as a sergeant in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa. He was a retired sergeant with the Sing Sing Correctional Facility. He was sharpshooter and a member of the S.W.A.T. team and an instructor. He served as commander of the Sing Sing Post # 1123.

Fasciani is survived by his children, Teresa (Ray) McLoughlin, Richard, Deborah and Sandra; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Alfred and Rudy; and sister, Linda Galletto. Calling hours are Monday, May 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Dorsey. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13 at St. Ann’s Church. The interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Sing Sing Post 1123, c/o Sing Sing Correctional Facility or the VFW, 406 West 34th St. Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
