Peter Anthony Bona, 92, Former Ossining Resident Worked At IBM

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Peter Anthony Bona, 92, a former Ossining resident, died Sunday, Feb. 15, in Raleigh, N.C.

Bona was born June 3, 1922, in New York to Salvatore Bona and Mary Bonavist Bona. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a charter member of the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps, an auxiliary policeman and a Boy Scout leader.

He retired from IBM and volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his wife, Annette F. Dascanio Bona; his sons, Peter S. Bona (Audrey) of Conway, S.C., and Joseph Bona (JoAnn) of Roanoke, Va.;  his daughters, Judy Brown (Keith) of Knightdale, N.C., and Bridget Morabito (Tony) of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; his stepdaughters, Mary Ann Tonon of San Francisco, Irene F. Tonon of Ossining and Denise DePompeo (Greg) of King William, Va.;12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mafalda Maresco Bona, and a sister, Josephine Daley.

The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, Feb. 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. at L. Harold Poole in Knightdale, N.C. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, in Wendell, N.C.
