Muriel 'Midge' Myers, 92, Ossining School Teacher

OSSINING, N.Y. – Muriel "Midge" Myers, a longtime resident of Ossining, died Dec. 17 at the age of 92.

Born in New Rochelle to the late Abe and Pauline Golub, she was a graduate of New Rochelle High School and attended NYU, where she received her bachelors in business education and her masters in early childhood education.

Mrs. Myers was a teacher in the Ossining School District for 28 years. She was an active member of Congregation Sons of Israel (CSI) in Briarcliff Manor, where she was a past president of their sisterhood, as well as past president of Hadassah. Midge's true dedication to helping others is recognized in her active role in the establishment of the Caring Committee at CSI.

Married in 1940 to Dr. Jesse Myers, who predeceased her in 1995, Midge was the loving mother to two sons, Howard and his wife, Paula, who reside in Croton-on-Hudson, and Ronnie and his wife, Diane, of Briarcliff Manor. She was the wonderful grandmother to five grandchildren: Julie, Nina and her husband, Ross McCammon, Aaron and his wife, Rebecca, Andrea, and Jennifer and her fiancé, David Gibbs; and the very proud great-grandmother of Theo McCammon.

Contributions in memory of Midge may be made to either the Caring Committee at CSI or to the Alzheimer's Association.
