Milton Frederick Banton, 65, Of Ossining, Owned Construction Business

OSSINING, N.Y. - Milton Frederick Banton of Ossining died Friday, Sept. 13. He was 65.

Banton was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Manchester, Jamaica, to Rupert and Winnifred Banton. He attended the Christiana Moravian School and from there he went on to attend trade school in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1968, he accepted employment with Alumina Partners of Jamaica in St Elizabeth, Jamaica and worked there for about five years. In 1973, after his marriage he migrated to the United States to be with his wife. They resided in Ossining. He established a construction business in 1984 and was later joined by Joseph Forde in 1997 who became his business partner.

Banton is survived by his wife, Veronica; children, Michael and Samantha; sisters, Mopsie and Patricia; brothers, Hixford, Gauth, Dalwin, Alluard, Paul; a host of nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-On-Hudson. There will be a memorial service from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
