Cornacchia was born in 1952, he grew up in Manhasset Hills, Long Island, where he attended Hendrick High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Masters in Education from St. Lawrence University in 1974. He worked at a number of automotive organizations throughout Westchester, most notably Dell Buick Cadillac, Ossining, which was owned by his father, Joseph. He was the head coach of the wrestling teams at Clarkson University and Croton-on-Hudson High School.
Cornacchia is survived by his wife, Dina Leung; father, Joseph Cornacchia; sister, Dolores; nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his mother, Anne.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Edward F. Carter Funeral Homes, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson. Interment will be at the family plot at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, Long Island.
