OSSINING, N.Y. - Maria Laviano of Ossining died Jan. 21. She was 83.
Laviano was born Aug. 5, 1930, in Sassinoro, Italy, to Domenico and Crescenza (Chiariotti) Santucci. She worked as a chef for Lucy's Restaurant in Yorktown and at St. Ann's for many years.
Laviano is survived by her daughters, Carmelita Solla, Silvana Laviano Felippelli; sisters, Lucy Martin, Amelia Fabbri; brothers, Modesto Santucci, Ettore Santucci, Alfredo Santucci; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vito.
Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St., Ossining. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at St. Ann's Church. Burial at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
