Born in the Bronx on October 30, 1983, to his father, Miquel Nieves, and his mother Angela Marcantonio, Nieves and his family moved to Mahopac when he was 14 years old.

He graduated from Mahopac High School in 2001, and then went on to BOCES technical school to further his education in plumbing and heating. He most recently worked at Dave Goldberg Plumbing & Heating, and Intercity Tires.

Nieves was known as a kind, caring person who cared deeply about his friends and welcomed them as “Brothers." He also had a passion for music and writing rap lyrics. He frequently meditated and visited a Buddhist monastery on occasion.

Nieves also enjoyed working out and MMA training. He loved good food, red wine, and could act out scenes from hundreds of movies. But most of all, he will be remembered for his incredibly big heart, kindness, and devotion to family and friends.

He is survived by his parents; his mother Angela Marcantonio and father Miquel Nieves; brother Jason; godfather Frank Bunnett; Aunt Gisela Nieves; Aunt Linda; Cousin Frankie, and Jeana Marie.

Nieves is also survived by his good friend and former wife Stephanie Kolar, and her parents Fred and Susan Kolar, along with siblings Matt and Diana, of Katonah where he lived.

A funeral service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday during the visitation at the Cargain Funeral Homes 10 Fowler Ave., Carmel. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.
