Judith C. Jackson, 89, Former Ossining Resident

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Judith C. Jackson -- a Camillus resident, formerly of Ossining -- died on Wednesday, Nov. 23. She was 89.

Born in Ossining, Jackson graduated from Ossining High School. She worked for Reader's Digest in Pleasantville for 10 years and was a sales associate for JCPenney for 19 years. She retired in 1992.

Jackson was a den mother, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Maxwell Memorial Library in Camillus, and a founding member of Immanuel United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and gardener, and she loved spending time at the beach.

She is survived by her children, Amy of Camillus, Scott of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and William of Sandwich, Massachusetts; grandchildren Daniel, Nathan, Victoria, Sarah, Kathryn, Andrew, Alexis, James and Sydney; and great-granddaughters Addison and Zosia.

Jackson was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert Jackson Jr.; parents Walter and Margaret Colby; son-in-law Daniel Scicchitano; and daughter-in-law Amy Jean Jackson.

Visitation and a service were held on Sunday, Nov. 28, at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, in Camillus. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, at Dale Cemetery, in Ossining.
