Joan D. Fiorito, 83, Former Ossining Resident

HOBE SOUND, Fla. - Joan D. Fiorito of Hobe Sound, formerly of Ossining, died Tuesday, Feb. 25. She was 83.

Fiorito was born Aug., 3, 1930, in Ossining, to William and Jean (Sniffin) Dean. She worked and retired from Anthony L. Fiorito, Inc., her husband's construction company. She attended St. Augustine School and Mary Immaculate High School. She was active in the St. Augustine PTA and was president of the St. Augustine Altar Guild.

Fiorito is survived by her children, Jean Fiorito and her partner, Sharon Hunt of Stuart, Fla., Martin (Janine) of Greer, S.C., Bruce (Lorraine) of Cortlandt Manor and Michelle Silano (Ralph) of Delhi; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Frances Schettino (Thomas); brother-in-law, Joseph Fiorito (Nancy); many nieces, nephews; and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Anthony L. Fiorito; grandson, Bruce A. Fiorito, Jr.; brother, William Dean; and sisters, Patricia Jensen and Pamela Persons.

Calling hours are Sunday, March 2 and Monday, March 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Route 9, Ossining. Burial will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Hawkes Avenue, Ossining.
