OSSINING, N.Y. – James C. Schlichtman, a longtime resident of Ossining, died on Wednesday, July 1. He was 95.
Schlichtman was born on Sept. 28, 1919, to James and Ann (nee Brennen) Schlichtman.
He served in the Army's 87th Infantry Division during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion, and siblings Ethel Bale and Harold Schlichtman
He is survived by three children, Barbara Doorley and her husband, Tom, James, and Marion Whalen and her husband, Daniel; sister Ruth Stanley and her husband, Bob; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church.
Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
