Eileen Smith Tobin, 79, Longtime Resident Of Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Eileen Smith Tobin, a former longtime resident of Ossining, died on June 10. She was 79.

Tobin was born in Ossining on Feb. 21, 1936 and was the daughter of Joseph and Winifred (Kenny) Meehan.

She was a Court Clerk for the Village of Briarcliff Manor, and a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining.

Eileen is survived by her sons Stephen (Mary) Smith, and Scott (Deborah) Smith; daughter Sharon (Jeffrey) Schuknecht; stepchildren Carol (Bill) Duffy, James Tobin, John (Cathleen) Tobin, Kevin Tobin, Margaret (Raymond) Edwards, and Arlene (Joel) Shoemaker; 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Howard Smith in 1965 and John Tobin in 2008, and her brother, Msgr. Joseph Meehan.  

Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine’s Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
