Donald DeBardinis, Formerly Of Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. – Donald A. DeBerardinis, of Fishkill and formerly of Ossining, died on Thursday, Sept. 3, after a brief illness.

He was known to friends, co-workers and young athletes as Don DeBar, graduating from Ossining High School in 1950.

After serving in the Air Force, he worked as a manufacturing superintendent at P.R. Mallory Battery in North Tarrytown until 1968, moving on to the title insurance business and working as a title examiner.

DeBerardinis helped found and operate youth athletic programs in Ossining, including the Town of Ossining Junior Basketball League, along with Little League baseball, football and basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Marasco) DeBerardinis, six children, Donald J. DeBerardinis and wife, Barbara Corti of Ossining, Joseph C. DeBerardinis and wife, Laurie Milano of Savannah, Ga., Joni Ryan and husband, Michael Ryan of Fishkill, Debra DeBerardinis and husband, Tarek Hamdanieh of Fishkill, David J. DeBerardinis and wife, Kristina DeBerardinis of Fishkill and Matthew J. DeBerardinis of Hopewell Juntion; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Julia Cheche and Rosemarie Moses.

He was predeceased by six brothers.

The funeral was held Wednesday at St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
