Maffei was born in Yonkers, where he was raised and remained until 2001, when he relocated to Ossining. He had lived in Dutchess County since 2005.
He worked for years as a driver for Liberty Lines Transit, based out of Yonkers. Maffei was a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church, in Fishkill.
Maffei is survived by his children, Matthew and Jenna; parents Barbara (Murry) and Frank Maffei Sr.; brothers Frankie Maffei Jr. and Bobby Maffei; former wife and friend Jennifer Maffei; and many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Ballew.
Visiting hours will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, 1089 Main St., in Fishkill. A mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St., in Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
