Constance Greaves, 77, Retired Ossining Bookkeeper

OSSINING, N.Y. – Constance Greaves, a retired Ossining bookkeeper of Kent Lakes, N.Y., died July 11. She was 77. 

Greaves was born Aug. 16, 1934, in New York City to Otto and Grace Orr Bahn. She married Daniel Greaves on Sept. 12, 1953, in Astoria, N.Y. Greaves worked as a bookkeeper for Greco Brush Company in Ossining before retiring in 2004. 

In Kent, N.Y., she served as president of the Women's Republican Club in Putnam County, commissioner of the Kent Fire Department and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kent Fire Department. 

Greaves is survived by her husband, Daniel; four sons, Brian, Bruce, David and Kevin; a sister, Barbara Turner; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel Greaves III. 

Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, with a service starting at 4:30 p.m., at Cargain Funeral Home in Carmel, N.Y.
