Clement P. Martone, Jr., 87, Of Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Clement P. Martone, Jr., of Ossining, died on May 4 at Skyview Nursing Home in Croton-On-Hudson. He was 87.

Martone was born March 13, 1928, in North Tarrytown (what is now Sleepy Hollow) to Clemente and Adelina Passerillo Martone.

He graduated from North Tarrytown High School in 1948 and Packard Business School in New York City in 1949, serving in the U.S. Army from 1946-47.

He worked as a police officer for the Village of Tuckahoe from 1955 to 1978 and as a security guard for Marymount College in Tarrytown from 1979 to 1999, also serving as an associate member of Independent Hose Company #6, Holla Hose Company #5 of the Ossining Fire Department, and Union Hose Company of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Philomena, daughter Adelina Godelsky and grandson Matthew Godelsky.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Carmine and James Martone, and four sisters, Jeanne Daniels, Mary Downey, Mildred Zingaro and Anne Doorley.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home,  21 W. Stevens Ave. in Hawthorne.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Ossining.

Interment will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
