OSSINING, N.Y. Betty Apostolico, a former longtime Ossining resident, died Sept. 3. She was 71.
She was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Peekskill to Donald and Evelyn Horton Conklin. She graduated from Ossining High School in 1958. Apostolico retired from Reader's Digest. She was also a former volunteer with the nutrition program at Ossining Community Center.
Apostolico is survived by a son, James (Barbara); a daughter, Cheryl (Lenny) Lichtenberger; a sister, Linda (Dennis) Mentasti; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, with a service immediately following at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
