KATONAH, N.Y. -- Lasdon Park will be the home of a winter wonderland celebration beginning Saturday, Dec. 14.

The Holiday On The Hill Celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in December. The main house will be decorated for the holidays with a Christmas tree, winning gingerbread house contest creations and the first-ever display of Lionel trains, featuring the Polar Express and tributes to other famous holiday classics.

"Take your skates and take a whirl on the new ice rink that will be available for family skating, weather permitting," representatives said.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are making a stop from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Admission to see the Train Show and main house is $2 for children and $5 for adults and skating fees are $1 for children and $2 for adults. Proceeds from the events will help fund Lasdon Park programs. On weekends, the Putnam Humane Society will be on hand to match up homeless pets to families wishing to adopt.

The Veterans Museum will have a new exhibit titled “The Holidays during War Time” featuring stories from the warfront celebrations. Admission to the museum is free.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of Lasdon along with M&T Bank and supported by members of the Katonah Chamber of Commerce including Charles Department Store, TrustCo Bank, Katonah Hardware, Katonah Architectural Hardware and the Blue Dolphin Restaurant in Katonah.
