OSSINING, N.Y. – The Village of Ossining's annual Portuguese Festival is the highlight of this weekend's events in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor.

Friday, June 15

Saturday, June 16

The Ossining Farmers’ Market: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Ossining Farmers’ Market is set to open for the 21st season at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on the corner of Spring and Main streets. Dozens of vendors from around the tri-state area are returning this year. There also are several new vendors joining the market for the first time. The Farmers’ Market continues every Saturday through Dec. 15. Market Square, Market and Spring Streets.

Briarcliff Library Story Time: 11 a.m. to noon. Residents with children ages 2-6 are invited to "Story Time" at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library. Registration through the library is requested. Annual Ossining Portuguese Festival: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Come support the Ossining Portuguese Club as it celebrates Portugal Day. There will be dancing, great food, drinks and always a happy atmosphere. Also, there will be a special presentation by a dance group from Peru. Main Street, Ossining.

Teatown Lake Reservation Scavenger Hunt: 1-2:30 p.m. Scavengers are an important part of nature’s clean-up crew. Come meet a couple of Teatown’s animal scavengers. Then we’ll head for a short hike outside to do a scavenger hunt and see how keen your senses are. Free for members; $5 for non-members. Call 914-762-2912 x110 to make a reservation. Vesper Series - Peace Like a River: 7 p.m. The Sunday Evening Services of the Historic Ossining Camp Meeting Association continue with the 2012 Vesper Series, “Peace Like a River” Campwoods Auditorium, Campwoods Grounds, Ossining. Admission free – good will offerings accepted to support the auditorium. Please find parking outside of Campwoods Grounds. Shout, “Amen!” as famous evangelist the Rev.
