Westchester Will Pay Settlement To Transgender Inmate In Sexual Assualt

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County agreed to an out of court settlement with a transgender inmate who was allegedly sexually assaulted while in county jail, according to LoHud.com.

Wilson (Mishele) Lojan was awarded $65,000 when an inmate who was employed by the county to aide corrections officers reportedly entered Lojan's cell and forced the victim to perform oral sex on him, LoHud.com reported.

Lojan, who was serving time for attacking a man with scissors in Mount Pleasant, originally sued for $1 million in punitive and compensatory damages, alleging the county failed to provide adequate security, LoHud.com said.
