Video Shows 'Dogfight' Over Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. -- What was going on with two planes in the sky in Ossining on Wednesday night?

Michael Foran was sitting on his back deck on Sherwood Avenue when he saw a jet plane flying northwest over his house. He the saw the plane was engaged with a prop plane.

"They were in really close proximity," Foran said. "They were flying close together."

Foran said it looked like the jet was in pursuit of the prop plane and the plane kept circling around. Foran captured some of it on video.

"It didn't seem like it was an air show," Foran said. "The plane flew off to the east and didn't return."

Because the planes were so tight together, Foran said he doesn't think it was accidental.

"Something was going on here," Foran said.

Foran posted on the Ossining Moms Facebook page and people told him they saw the planes flying over their house and flying over the Arcadian Shopping Center.

"No one seemed to know what it was," Foran said. "My initial thought was a plane was well off course and had been intercepted because it was flying too close to Indian Point. It was hard to tell what was going on."

While Foran said he often sees planes due to his close proximity to Westchester County Airport, the first jet grabbed his attention immediately.

"It seemed awfully dangerous, especially so close to civilian population," Foran said.
