The ceremony took place at Teatown, which hosted the annual announcement of the NYSCPP grant recipients.

“Our mission is to inspire our community to lifelong environmental stewardship. We are especially excited to instill so many young people an interest in environmental science. We must, therefore, make every reasonable effort to reach as many of these stakeholders as possible," Teatown Executive Director Kevin Carter said in a statement.  "We are incredibly humbled and grateful for this significant gift ... given the prevalence of nearby Hispanic or Latino populations, and increased support of the NYSCPP. With their support and the support of the Land Trust Alliance, this important initiative for our community will now be possible.”

Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens and Assemblywoman Sandy Galef attended the grant announcement.
