Muscoot Farm Celebrates 40th Anniversary

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Muscoot Farm celebrated its 40th anniversary on Monday. 

Visitors engaged with the animals and enjoyed live music, hayrides, a farmers market and activities for families and children. County Executive Rob Astorino greeted visitors and thanked the staff, friends and supporters of the farm. 

Before its development as a county park, the 777-acre Muscoot Farm was a private farm.

Before its development as a county park, the 777-acre Muscoot Farm belonged to the Hopkins family as a private farm. The Hopkins family grew produce and raised livestock at the "gentleman's farm," and used it as a summer estate.
