Police Find Missing Man's Body In Croton Reservoir

A body recovered from Croton Reservoir was identified as Yorktown man Steven Lorenz.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown Police have identified a body found in the Croton Reservoir as 34-year-old Steven Lorenz, who was reported missing on Tuesday, according to authorities. 

Authorities received a call at approximately 10:12 a.m. on Wednesday about a submerged body in the Croton Reservoir, police said. 

Lorenz was identified by supervisors from the St. Jude Habitation Institute group, the home where he lived, police said. 

The Institute of Applied Human Dynamics, which runs the group home, issued a statement on Lorenz's passing.

"We are devastated by passing of Steven Lorenz, a cherished member of IAHD family He left his home Tuesday morning  unescorted and was found at the edge of the Croton Reservoir a short distance from his home," said Stanley Silverstein, the executive director of IAHD. "We are in process of notifying relatives and gathering information as to why Mr. Lorez left his home unescorted."

Authorities are still investigating the matter.
