OSSINING, N.Y. -- Salt spreaders were on the streets and villagers began shoveling early snow Friday morning as a winter storm arrived in the town and village of Ossining.

The National Weather Service predicted heavy snowfall and high winds through Saturday morning for the Westchester County area forcing schools in Ossining to have early dismissal Friday morning. All after-school activities in Ossining, as well as local recreation and village government events, were also canceled for Friday and Saturday.

Please send your storm photos to and we will post them in our Daily Voice gallery.
