OSSINING, N.Y. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Ossining this week.

Members of Ossining’s Historic First Baptist Church were saddened to learn Friday of the death of Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. Gordon Anderson . Anderson, 93, came to the church in 1998 and retired in July 2011. He had been active in the ministry for 70 years.

The Westchester County Health Department issued a rabies warning to residents of Ossining on Friday. The Health Department reported that a resident found a multi-colored stray cat on James Street on Tuesday and turned it in to a local shelter. The cat was then tested positive for rabies.

Ossining's annual fireworks display was held Wednesday evening at dusk at Louis Engel Waterfront Park. The festivities kicked off with a concert at 7:30 p.m. with classic rock cover band Over The Top. Funk band Phil Ishmaels Band kept the party going.
