Ossining Supervisor to Speak on Tax Cap Panel

Ossining Town Supervisor Catherine Borgia plans to participate in a panel discussion at SUNY New Paltz on Oct. 3 on challenges faced by local governments under new tax cap legislation.

"In light of the property tax cap and the difficult economy, it is more important than ever to get creative and find smart ways to cut costs," Borgia said in a press release.

The panel discussion is part of the 2011 Fall Conference on Local Government presented by the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress and the SUNY New Paltz Center for Research, Regional Education and Outreach.

The conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the SUNY New Paltz student union in New Paltz, NY. Other speakers at the conference include state Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, former Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi and state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.
