Ossining Renames Tennis Courts After Longtime Resident Shannon Ross

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The village of Ossining and the Ossining Recreation and Parks Department planned to name Nelson Park's tennis court in honor of the late Shannon Ross on Friday.

Ross championed tennis as an Ossining resident and helped develop youth tennis programs through the school district and recreation department. She also promoted adult tennis programs, USTA team competitions and the installation of lights at the Nelson Park courts.

The naming ceremony is scheduled to take place at the tennis courts at 7 p.m.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place indoors at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center at 95 Broadway.
