The club was locked on Oct. 31 after town officials cited more than 20 violations in the town-owned building on the Hudson River at Engel Park. It was unlocked by the town on Saturday, Nov. 9.
As part of the town's recently signed license agreement with the club, the town building inspector is required to check on the building on a monthly basis, Town Supervisor Susan Donnelly said.
But after a recent meeting with club members, Donnelly said since there are no structural violations within the building, the town will allow work on the violations in the building during daytime hours.
Members of the club will meet with the electrical inspector to determine what needs to be done, and cost out the electrical work using estimates from two or three licensed electricians, Donnelly said.
An electrician will be chosen and will proceed with the work in the building with oversight by OBCC, the town, and inspectors as necessary, Donnelly said.
"The members of OBCC will absorb the cost of the electricians as well as any costs to bring the building up to code," Donnelly said.
Club members said they will walk-through the building on Thursday with an electrician and an architect to determine what work needs to be done.
"OBCC members will not have access to the building until it is cleared completely of the alleged violations, at which point the electricity will be restored," Meaddows Ryan, an OBCC member said. "How the timing of that, and who controls the speed with which the rest of this moves forward, is unclear to me at this time."
Ryan said the building has been under police observation to make sure no one unlawfully enters the building.
The town recently announced a feasibility study to determine whether to enter into a public private partnership and put an upscale restaurant at the building.
The study is ongoing and the town will be meeting with OBCC members in the next two weeks to review their findings and expect to allow the public to weigh in next month.
