Flushing of hydrants is scheduled for Sunday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. The village will start with hydrants in the low service district, which is the area west of Route 9. Once that work is done, the area on the east side of Route 9 in the Lakeville and Torbank Service Districts will be worked on.

The entire hydrant-flushing program should take approximately three weeks to complete, the village said.

Residents could notice some discoloration in their water first thing in the morning as the hydrant flushing is being done near their homes.

The village said residents should not be alarmed if they see discolored water and should run the water for a short period of time.  If the discoloration persists, residents are asked to notify the Water Department at 941-6111. Hydrant flushing is necessary for the continued cleanliness of the water distribution system, according to the village.
