Open Door Gets $10,000 For Mental Health Program

The Open Door Family Medical Center has received a $10,000 grant from St. Faith’s House Foundation, to support its mental health program for children.

Open Door, which has clinics in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Port Chester and Mt. Kisco, will use the grant money for its 4-Our-Children program which provides mental health counseling and assistance to children ages two through 16 who have been identified as at-risk for emotional, behavioral or developmental health problems.

The 4-Our-Children program is a preventative mental health initiative that provides routine screenings for social, emotional and behavioral issues beginning at the age of two. The program is supported solely by private funding.

St. Faith’s House Foundation is a Tarrytown-based Episcopal organization that provides assistance to at-risk children in Westchester. It used to provide shelter and service to pregnant teens before closing down in the late 1960s due to lack of applications for the program. The organization became a private foundation that bestows grants to support youth.
