Man Who Jumped Atop Metro-North Train En Route To NYC Found On Fire

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A man who apparently jumped onto a moving Metro-North train in Stamford was found on fire on the roof at the Riverside station in Greenwich on Sunday morning, according to NBC Connecticut.

The incident happened at about 5:08 a.m. on the train due to arrive at Grand Central Terminal at 6:19 a.m, NBC Connecticut said.

As the train, which originated in Stamford, pulled into Riverside, workers began to investigate power outages onboard, found the man atop the train and used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze, NBC Connecticut said.

The man had jumped onto the moving train near the Greenwich/Stamford border, NBC Connecticut said.

The man was still alive and transported to Westchester Medical Center, NBC Connecticut said.
