Hundreds Of Con Ed Customers Without Power After Storms Hit Westchester

More than 500 Westchester residents remain in the dark following a round of storms that struck the area overnight following Monday’s sudden rise in temperatures and humidity in the region.

On Tuesday morning, as of 9:45 a.m., 546 of Con Edison’s 348,948 customers in Westchester County remained without power as crews continue cleaning up from the overnight storm, with a planned restoration time of the early afternoon for all residents.

In total, 546 of Con Ed’s customers remained without power in the region, including 512 in Peekskill, 29 in White Plains, and lone outages in Yorktown, Ossining, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon and Cortlandt.

Overnight, storms hit the area, bringing rain and winds, which knocked out some utility poles, leaving some residents in the dark. On Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to hover in the 80s, with a high of 89 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely to reach the region in the afternoon, bringing winds up to 10 mph.
