OSSINING, N.Y. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Ossining last week:
- A ceremonial groundbreaking was held for Harbor Square, a $65 million mixed-use development along Ossining's waterfront. A previous groundbreaking for the project, delayed by the recession, was held in 2006.
- New York State Police troopers from the Tarrytown barracks assisted in convincing a despondent man on the Rockland County side of the Tappan Zee Bridge not to jump.
- MoneyRates.com released its list of best and worst states to make a living and New York didn’t fare so well, ranking in the top five worst.
- McNair, 62, known as "Uncle Jimmy Mack," of Peekskill was killed in a six-car accident that left his friend, comedian Tracy Morgan in critical condition.
