Former Ossining Teacher Set For Sentencing In Student Rape Case

OSSINING, N.Y. -- John Azabache, the former Ossining High School Math teacher that admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student may not have to serve any time in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday, Dec. 12., according to LoHud.com

The Port Chester resident pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree rape. Azabache could have been facing up to four years in prison had he not taken the offer, LoHud.com reported. 

The victim's parents reported the incident to police on July 10, Azabache was arrested two days later, the day he was supposed to marry his former fiancé, according to LoHud.com.
