OSSINING, N.Y. - Dozens of residents evacuated Maryknoll Nursing Home in Ossining Friday night after a generator failed.
About a dozen at the nursing home were taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital, Village of Ossining police said. The nursing home was evacuated as a precaution, said representatives with Maryknoll.
"We had an evacuation because a generator did fail," said Mike Virgintino, Maryknoll's communications manager. "As a precaution, they moved several residents to the main building and others, who required more medical assistance, were moved on to the hospital."
