Carlucci states:
"Today is an important first step for the people of the Hudson Valley. For the past two years, I have championed a package of bills to combat toll evaders, which has passed the New York State Senate. This legislation allows the New York State Authority to work directly with the Department of Motor Vehicles to suspend or deny the vehicle registration of a persistent toll evaders.
“I applaud Governor Cuomo for directing the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue new regulations that take action against motorists who persistently evade the payment of tolls and fees. We must ensure that New Yorkers are not on the hook to make up the difference for scofflaws, in order to fund vital infrastructure projects in our great state."
