Briarcliff Hydrant Flushing Tops Village Manager's Report

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Hydrant flushing in certain parts of Briarcliff will continue until Friday afternoon, according to Village Manager Philip Zegarelli’s latest report.

The flushing started Monday in these areas, he said: Pleasantville Road (from South State Road to the high school); Buckhout, Woodfield, Jackson, Horsechestnut, Ingham, Simpson, Valentine Oak, Ash and Zuydhoek streets; Larch Road, Dogwood Lane, Stephenson Terrace and Round Hill Drive.

Flushing causes water to become discolored but, Zegarelli said, lab tests have shown that it is safe to use.

However, he advised residents to avoid doing their laundry while flushing is under way.

  • Village Treasurer: The first installment of property taxes are due Friday, July 1. For more information, call the village’s tax department at (914) 944-2723.
  • Recreation and Parks: Current pool hours are 11 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. through Monday, July 4. Summer camp begins on Tuesday, July 5. Pool and tennis permits are required for the season. The Youth Center’s basketball court is open from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. It is open to the public when not in use by Youth Center clients.
