The second annual Small Business Forum will start at 8:30 to 10 a.m., at the Westchester Campus of Fordham University Westchester Campus in Room 228 at 400 Westchester Avenue in West Harrison. The aim of the forum is to bring together business owners and professionals across Buchwald's Assembly District.

"The goal of the meeting is to facilitate an exchange of ideas and to understand the priorities and concerns of the business community in Westchester County," according to a press release. "On this occasion, Assemblyman Buchwald will be leading a discussion specifically focused on attracting young professionals to live and work in Westchester."

The meeting promises to be an "in-depth conversation along with expert opinions, and the public is invited to participate," according to the release.

“Attracting young professionals to our community is vital to keeping our local economy strong,” said Buchwald. “With the direct input of small business owners and our community leaders, we can begin to address this important issue head-on.”

Guest speakers include Kevin McCarthy, founding member of the Westchester County Association’s Young Professionals Group and Maria Freburg, chairwoman of the Business Council of Westchester’s Rising Stars Alumni Group. In addition, Alexander Roberts, executive director at Community Housing Innovations and author of the report “Richest Communities on Long Island and in Westchester Experiencing Demographic Collapse of Young Adult Workforce,” will be speaking at the event, according to the release.

“The Small Business Forum I hosted last year was a resounding success in highlighting the issues our business community faces today,” said Buchwald. “This forum will provide our business leaders with the opportunity to both express the challenges in attracting young professionals to Westchester County and offer meaningful solutions.”
