To the editor:
Our course on the road finally seems clear: stay home. The latest news stories heard every day on almost every radio and television news channel involve crashes, road injuries and wrong-way fatalities. These at some point have evolved from parkways and highways to our local streets.
Despite efforts by local law enforcement agencies, drivers and pedestrians alike encounter individuals who have forgotten to share the roadways because "they are in a rush," despite traffic conditions to get there. They might as well have flashing neon signs for the rest of us saying, "Get out of the way, I'm coming through."
They speed in slow lanes, they cut us off, they tailgate, but worst of all, they endanger our lives. What gives them the right to use their vehicles as a weapon on public roads?
